Originally from central New York, Dr. Schadel received his undergraduate Biomedical Sciences degree from the University at Buffalo in Buffalo, New York. Dr. Schadel continued his education by attending dental school at the University at Buffalo, earning his Doctor of Dental Surgery degree with oral and maxillofacial surgery academic concentration. He graduated at the top of his class with summa cum laude honors and was also elected into Omicron Kappa Upsilon national dental honor society.
Following dental school, Dr. Schadel completed a one-year oral and maxillofacial internship at Parkland Memorial Hospital in Dallas, Texas. Dr. Schadel then moved to Charleston, South Carolina to complete a four-year hospital-based residency in oral and maxillofacial surgery at The Medical University of South Carolina. He obtained the highest in-service exam score in his program multiple times and served as Chief Resident during his final year of training.
While in residency, Dr. Schadel wrote a textbook chapter and contributed to the Journal of Oral and Maxillofacial surgery. He has trained with the most advanced and cutting-edge technology allowing him to provide individualized treatment plans for each patient. His interests in oral and maxillofacial surgery include wisdom teeth removal, dental implant surgery, bone grafting, facial trauma, corrective jaw surgery, oral pathology, and office-based anesthesia. Extensive training in anesthesia allows Dr. Schadel to provide comfortable and safe care for his patients.
