This guide will cover some general things to do before your surgery, from what to wear to medications and dietary restrictions. By following these simple steps, you can help ensure a successful surgery and a comfortable recovery.
You will receive a confirmation call from our office a few days before your scheduled surgery to confirm the date and time. Please double-check this information carefully and let us know if you have any questions.
Please arrive at our office 15-30 minutes prior to your scheduled surgery time. This will allow us to complete any necessary paperwork and ensure a smooth start to your procedure.
If you need to reschedule your appointment, we ask that you call as soon as possible to reschedule.
Before surgery, we will review your medical history with you. This will include any allergies you may have, existing medical conditions, and medications you are currently taking. It’s important to update us on any changes to your health since your consultation.
Certain medications can interfere with anesthesia or increase bleeding risks during surgery. We will provide you with a list of medications to avoid taking before your surgery, such as blood thinners and aspirin. Please disclose all medications (prescription, over-the-counter, and herbal supplements) during your consultation.
If you take medications for a chronic condition, such as blood pressure medication, we will advise you on how to take them on the day of surgery.
In some cases, you may be instructed to take them with a minimal amount of water. Please follow these instructions carefully to ensure the safety and effectiveness of your surgery.
